SEO Copywriting Tips For Adding More Keywords Naturally
by David Coyne
SEO copywriting has many unique challenges. Here's one you may encounter.
You want to include more keywords on one of your web pages. But adding more copy sounds unnatural. It comes across as fluffy, filler text. So what's the solution?
Try these SEO copywriting tactics...
1) Include A Tip Box
Add useful content with your sales copy. This is a variation of the direct response copywriting technique you find in direct mail packages. Running next to the sales copy, you find sidebars with actionable tips or mini articles.
On your web page you create a graphic box and insert inside a useful tip, which includes your keywords. Not only do you place more keywords on the page, but you also provide the web visitor valuable information.
2) Hyperlink Related Articles On Your Web Page
At the end of your page, you include links to articles with the keywords in the titles.
For example, say your company sells and services heavy equipment, such as excavators, wheel loaders, and tractors. One of the services your company offers is heavy equipment training. And you want to optimize that phrase.
You could write something like this:
"Give us a call today about our certified heavy equipment training courses. And read our article 10 Things You Need To Know About Heavy Equipment Training" [hyperlink title]
This gives you another opportunity to include your keyphrase. Plus, by hyperlinking the article title, it helps search engine spiders discover more of your website.
3) Repeating Keywords For Emphasis
If I wanted to optimize the word "copywriter," I might repeat the keyword for emphasis. Here's an example:
"If you need...
n A copywriter who understands B2B customers
n A copywriter who persuades buyers with benefits, not hype
n A copywriter who asks customers to take immediate action
Then give me a call today at...."
Keep in mind, this method should be used sparingly. Never repeat the keywords more than three times using this technique.
